I am a certified Maryland Teacher with 17 combined years of experience in both classroom instruction and educational publishing/sales experience. As a classroom teacher I strive to provide research-based instruction that encourages students to be goal-oriented, conscientious learners, who are able to succeed in all areas of the English/language arts curriculum. My tutoring services include one-hour sessions of intense reading and writing assignments. The lessons are designed to provide struggling readers with access to reading tools to enhance reading comprehension. Students experience these lessons through research-based strategies with a focus on Reciprocal Teaching techniques. Students read a variety of literature at their instructional level with the opportunity to increase their reading level through more complex literature. The end goal is to equip students with strategies that can be used effectively in any reading/writing assignment across content areas.
